My computer hardware is capable to handle the program, I have tried numerous fixes with no change (list above), and it appears my GPU is running at 0% when in pose mode.Help and questions for Blender, a great, open source, free 3d application. TLDR - Starting 2 days ago Blender has extreme lag in pose mode and is unusable. The program is not usable for rigging/posing right now and hopefully some of you Blender experts have some advice for this newbie! I’m just at a bit of a loss as to the next steps in trouble shooting this issue. I am fairly new to PC use though, so I’m actually not sure if 20% CPU at 50% RAM use indicated a major problem. I did try to search for a fix last night and went through these possible solutions in a systematic way, applying and testing each individually, followed by combining certain options (e.g., driver update + decimate subsurf + CUDA selected). Unfortunately, I had the exact same problem as experienced on the Mac. I switched over to my PC that has specs capable of handling the program (Nvidia 1080Ti, Ryzen 1700x, 16GB ram). I was initially using my MacBook Pro, and while performance wasn’t seamless, it was working quite well even in pose mode up until two days ago.

  • Simple rig (9 bones) and joined the cube to the armature (parent) using automatic weights.
  • Subsurf modifier used on each of the 3 objects prior to joining - render set to 2.
